ImageWoohoo!! My minicards from Moo.com just arrived! I love their cards, I have a set of their business cards as well and they’re such a great quality. I’ve already started handing this bad boys out. Thinking about using these as little tags and sending them with the items that my clients purchase. Love them!! 🙂

Caine’s Arcade

I received the link to the short film by Nirvan Mullick the other day called “Caine’s Arcade”. Apparently it is all the buzz on the internet and now I see why. This film is so inspiring it brought me to tears out of pure joy, that right there solidified the fact that I needed to forward this to all of my friends so they could share in my crying out of joy.

It’s the story of a 9 year old boy from L.A. who built a cardboard arcade out of the back of his father’s auto parts store.  His passion to create what he loved for the sheer joy of it was inspiring but the kind heartedness of Nirvan and the people in L.A. just brought it all together.  Caine’s determination to never give up and continue creating what he loved was truly an inspiring story that I must share with everyone else who hasn’t already seen it. Now let’s all move forward this weekend to try to make our stamp on the world and help out the Caine’s in this world. Take a moment to stop and smell the roses, to stop and talk to someone you wouldn’t typically talk to or just take those two seconds to make someone’s day a little brighter. You never know what you’re capable of!

In the beginning…

Creating a blog can be a very daunting task. You read so many blogs throughout your day that it seems like such a simple task, until you sit down and start to think up a concept and then try to put your words together to form that first amazing blog to start everything off on the right foot. Suddenly your mind goes blank and you’re not sure where to start, do you even really know what a blog is anymore?

As I’ve found on my venture for my very first blog, there are plenty of resources out there to help you start your blog and have a great blog for years to come. One of my favorite resources was from Tara Gentile with Scoutie Girl (www.taragentile.com) she offered a series called Kick Start labs that did just that! After reading the first two lessons the determination to create a blog was there. I was on fire, the passion to start this blog was coming alive and now I just had to act on it and stop dreaming about it.

My name is Melissa Hager and I’m turning my passion into a reality. I’ve loved crafting and the arts my entire life and am finally making my dream come true. I’ve been creating items for friends and family over the past few years and with all of their motivation I’m making my items available to the public. I currently offer a number of knit and crochet items, as well as, illustrations and paintings including mural artwork. Please check out some of my websites and feel free to contact me with any questions or inquiries. I look forward to speaking with every one of you!
