What a whirlwind the past few weeks have been but now with Christmas less than a week away things are starting to get back to normal, just finished up my last two custom orders and can start replenishing my shop with a few new items and items I started in the beginning of the season but have left unfinished on my drafting table. I think that list includes at least 4 hats for kids and adults, I’ve apparently been in a hat mood lately!
Now that the crazy knitting and crocheting has come to an end its time for the holiday parties to begin, one of my favorite traditions for the holidays, seeing all of your friends and family, enjoying good food and watching the children’s eyes light up at the site of beautiful holiday lights and presents!
Hopefully there will be many fun pics to come but in the meantime, enjoy this ornery pic of my son sticking his tongue out at me, but he is in holiday jammies!!
Phew! These past few days have been crazy! In the past 4 days I received 6 custom orders all needed by Christmas, now this was really no surprise to me, I kinda live for this time of year and anticipate the influx of business but there is still that moment where your heart sinks and you begin to question your sanity! Hahaha Well the good news is I only have 3 more items to make but this also means that my turn around times are slipping a little bit. If you plan on placing a custom order please allow a few extra days for your item to be made prior to shipping and if you need something in time for Christmas please message me first to make sure that it can be completed in time. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding!!
On a lighter note I happened to win a wonderful soy candle from BEAUTY – in the kitchen and stopped out at Wonderstruck Artisan Market on my lunch break today in Canfield, OH to pick it up…such a cute shop!!! They have everything you could possibly want, all from local artists, including BEAUTY – in the kitchen by Maria Marucci items which I love!! If you don’t already know Maria creates candles and beauty items from scratch straight out of her kitchen with no harsh chemicals. LOVE!! If you haven’t already been to Wonderstruck or seen the items by BEAUTY – in the kitchen I really recommend that you stop on out!
These weeks are just flying by and as each day passes I’m just reminded of how far behind I am in my holiday shopping! Some how I’ll get it all done. As long as the weather holds out I plan on getting most of the kids gifts done this weekend, love toy shopping its my favorite. But love watching the children’s faces on Christmas morning even more!
I’ve been working on a few projects recently, here’s one of my recent cowls
Haven’t had a chance to take a decent pic of my other cowl yet and leave it to me to start a project with scrap yarn…a new crochet hat in a nice hunter green color. Now I knew very well before I started the project that it wasn’t enough to finish the hat and would need to buy more but I honestly didn’t think that the dye could have varied so much. I’ve always been told to make sure you buy enough yarn for a project all at once but never really ran into an issue with the colors being too far off to be visible to the human eye. Thankfully I brought a scrap piece of the yarn to match up at the store just in case because it was WAY off! So guess we’re onto plan B, I bought a completely different yarn that I love and can’t wait to make stuff out of it and will just undo my half a hat and just make a baby hat out of it. Problem solved, shame I put about 2 hours into it already and have to take it all apart. Oh well, lesson learned! But there was a great sale on buttons today so even though I couldn’t get that yarn my sale find on buttons turned my frown upside down. Can’t wait for a bunch of new projects this winter!!
What is everyone else doing this weekend? Its going to be quite chilly and snowy here so I’m not quite sure that we’ll be able to make it to the Lighting of Poland Village (an event we look forward to every year) but perhaps we’ll put on a Christmas movie and cuddle up on the couch!
Have a wonderful weekend!!
Just about finished up my last custom order, this beautiful gray and red cowl
Just needs a button and it will be complete so now I’m thinking…What’s next?!?
I have so many projects in my head I don’t know which to create next. I’m thinking about making a new hat for my youngest son, he needs a nice thick winter hat, custom made with love! But then I want to make some fingerless gloves, hats for babies and unisex adults oh and who could forget the adorable monkey slippers I found online and want to figure out how to recreate!
Do you have any special requests you’d like to see in my shop??? Please comment below, DBZ fans feel free to let me know which characters you would like to see in my shop as well! Also, my goal for 2014 is to become a more organic/green shop so get ready to see more of those items in my shop and more natural tone items.
Thanksgiving has now passed and the holiday season is upon us! Love this time of year and watching the glow in each little child’s eye.
I know my youngest had a glow in his eye over the weekend when he saw us pull out all of our holiday boxes of decorations. My boyfriend told me he didn’t know how I could be so patient as he watched my little helper trying to run off with the string of lights that were attached to the tree and running around with an ornament in each hand most of the day, he just never knew which two to pick out! Here are a few pics from my fun weekend with the boys, cherished every moment!
