The past week has flown by so fast I can hardly believe that it’s the weekend again! My youngest came down with the flu and thank goodness no one else in the family did but in normal fashion the smallest one’s require the most attention.
Oh how I love spending my days cuddling on the couch with my smallest love but at the same time it breaks my heart to seem him so helpless. Unable to get much sleep but not able to play on his own we spent most of the past week watching reruns of the Bubble Guppies and Paw Patrol. I can say that after a 14 hour rest the other day he seems to be back to his normal, ornery self!
It’s funny how kids can make you think you’re losing your mind but when they’re sick and the house is quiet you almost miss that chaos!
During that 14 hour rest he had the other day we managed to actually watch a movie, yes, one with real people and not animation! And I began working on a new wool hat. I feel like it’s been a while since I’ve started a new knit project so I was eager to break out some new yarn from my collection. Even with spring around the corner I can’t help but create another hat, seems to be my mood recently.
With a new little one on the way and spring around the corner I’m contemplating more children’s items in my future. I’ve tossed this idea around a couple of times so far and haven’t fully executed it yet so I don’t want to get ahead of myself. But I am thinking after this hat I will begin a few new items for kids, I’ll keep you posted on that status.
The weather seems like it might actually let up this weekend and my family cannot wait! We’re planning a handful of outdoor activities to enjoy the sun and 30 degree temps and will patiently wait for those 50’s that the weathermen keep promising us!
It’s hard to sit here and think that a year has nearly come and gone already. My baby will turn 1 in less than two weeks and we just had his first birthday party over the weekend! How far we’ve come but I have no idea where the time has gone. This boy is now eating solids, he’s mobile and trying to say more and more words. The amount of things that he has learned in this past year just amazes me, children are sponges and they’re learning and growing every day.
I think as adults we need to step back and try to see things as a child from time to time to help these creative juices flow. You won’t ever get this year back so use your time wisely and soak up everything that you come across. I’ve been hard at work painting and organizing my craft room and of course knitting like a maniac! Will be posting some of my new items soon, just trying to find that elusive free time! Currently working on a knit cream hat and will have more fingerless gloves and baby hats to follow soon.
The crispness in the air has arrived and fall is at our doorsteps, enjoy the change in seasons and the beautiful falls leaves that are beginning to fall!
The weather around here has been absolutely beautiful lately, I definitely cannot complain! I am not a winter or snow person at all, I mean I love to look at the snow and I think it’s pretty but I hate being cold and I hate driving through the snow and having to shovel it…bring on summer!
With the change in seasons I’m finding that I’m being flooded with new ideas for projects and many of them are color filled! I cannot wait to work with color in the coming days, just started a new drawing for the Day of the Dead. I know, I know, wrong season but hey it’s color filled and it’s what struck me most so I’m going with it! I never like to shoot down ideas that pop into my head, I find that when I go with the flow those projects turn out the best, when I try to force an idea that’s when they flop!
Hey, you never know come October and November I may have an urge to draw flower blossoms…just go with it!
What new projects are you working on? Anything spring like for the season or something completely off the wall like me?!
